About the Village of Merici

Our Mission

The Village of Merici, Inc  provides residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities that promote a strong sense of community. By creating a sense of community we will create a sense of belonging.

The Village of Merici is a 501(c)3 organization. The desire to have individuals and families come together as a community to support one another in leading a purpose-filled life  is our focus.

Our Name – The Village of Merici ( pronounced Mer – ee -chee) was chosen to reflect the spirit of community, belongingness and a better way of providing for those with developmental disabilities. St Angela Merici is considered a patron of those with disabilities and in need. The Village of Merici is a organization rooted in Christian values which means our staff and community will operate with the following Core Values:

Our Goals and Vision

  • Develop housing options for adults with developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities partnering in the community.
  • We focus on providing a safe, joyful, accessible neighborhood environment with choices in residential living and support, occupational training and job placement opportunities, and social activities, all in the framework of sustaining and improving the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health of the individuals we serve. By focusing on a strong sense of community we will create a stronger sense of belonging in the Indianapolis area.
  • Promoting healthy relationships for clients with family, friends and community partners.
  • The vision of building a neighborhood setting for adults with various levels of abilities continues promoting a diverse community.
  • Foster growth, education, and development individually and interpersonally with clients.
  • Provide social and community activities for adults with Developmental Disabilities in Indianapolis area
  • Develop residential and community support programs – The Village of Merici is an approved BDDS Waiver Services Provider for Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH Waiver) , Family Supports  Waiver (FSW) , Personal Assistance and Care (PAC) , Supported Employment Follow Along and other support services.
  • Provide residential support services for adults with developmental disabilities including autism.
  • Partner with Day Service programs for adults in residential community – The Village of Merici can serve as a resource for those looking for facility based day services
  • Collaboration with local agencies to provide supports for adults with autism and developmental disabilities
