Grants that support The Village of Merici

We receive significant support for our programs throughout the year. We gratefully acknowledge the grants we have received to provide quality programs for the people we support. THANK YOU!!

The Village of Merici has received a grant from The Indianapolis Foundation, A CICF Affiliate for $15,000 to support the on-site training kitchen to allow individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to improve skills for successful employment.  We are grateful for these funds to further develop the Merici Kitchen project.

The Village of Merici has received a grant from the Hoover Family Foundation for $8,000 for the support of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to learn skills for successful employment in the restaurant industry.

The Buckingham Foundation has given the Village of Merici a $7,500 grant to support the Merici Kitchen Project with funds for class  expenditures.

The Village of Merici has received a grant from TCCGives for technology support for $5,260.00. We have purchased 10 iPads for the people we support to use during education and information sessions The iPads are interactive with the Aquos board and allows for engaged learning. We have also purchased a microphone, additional computer storage space and a video camera.

A grant in the amount of $5,000 has been given to the Village of Merici for the Healthy Initiatives Program for 2019 by the Nicholas H. Noyes Jr. Memorial Foundation.  These funds will be used to purchase an individual tracking device to monitor individual progress for persons we support through the Special Olympics of Indiana Unified Fitness  Club in collaboration with the Merici Walking  program as well as resource materials for the Healthy Initiatives Program.
