Supported Living

Support Living Services provides opportunities to individuals to help promote their personal, social and vocational competency to live successfully in their own home, apartment, townhouse or other residential setting. The individual is an active partner in in determining the activities they desire to participate in and the skills they wish to develop.  The Village of Merici staff will work together with the individual and their family to identify community life experiences and interactions and develop a plan and goals for increased independence and greater quality of life. The Village of Merici works with individuals living in their own home, own apartment or with family  to support the individuals own goals. we focus on the individuals capacities rather than deficits.

The Village of Merici is an approved provider of Medicaid Waiver Services under the Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver (CIH)  and the Family Support Waiver (FSW) through the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS) division of the Indiana Family Social Services Administration (FSSA) and is accredited by CARF.

Supported Living Residential Services may include but are not limited to:

  • Assistance in achieving choice of housing
  • Assistance in securing or maintaining housing that is affordable, accessible and safe and chosen by the individual
  • Provide training in healthy lifestyles
  • Provide training in personal care and other daily living skills
  • Provide training in cooking, grocery shopping, household management and money management skills
  • Provide training in self-advocacy and decision making skills
  • provide training in employment and income generation activities
